The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be released on Friday, 10 April 2015. Armed with new specs, it is set to break new record sales for the Samsung Electronics Co.

Co-CEO Shin Jong Kyun is confident that the positive feedback from the market for the Samsung Galaxy S6, including good reviews, will result in record sales for Samsung.

In South Africa, service providers such as Vodacom and MTN already have pre-order options for the phone after launching several pre-order campaigns. Vodacom has been the quickest to serve their contract prices, which may result in an increase of market share from their end, when taking into account web users searching for deals that other providers don’t have enough information about.

At Vodacom two LTE models of the Samsung Galaxy S6 are available on contract.

Samsung Galaxy S6 LTE (G920) model comes with a minimum price of a R529 pm contract with 75 anytime minutes, 200 SMSs and 200MB of data per month, and includes an extra gig of data per month.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge LTE (G925) model with a curved screen down the edges has a minimum contract price of R679 pm with 75 min, 200 SMSs and 200MB of data per month plus an extra gig of data per month.

If you are not a fan of contracts and would like to buy a the S6 for cash, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will cost around R10599 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which has 64 GB of storage will cost you around R14 199, more expensive than the Note 4.

While Samsung fans may not have as long a queue at stores to get their devices like in the case of Apple iPhone releases, Android-based operating system users will certainly buy them, opting for the faster phone with a longer lasting battery life.
